OUR STORY

Hi, Welcome to our website. Congratulations on your pregnancy. Whether it is first, second or last, babies are always a miracle and I'm excited to be even a tiny part of yours.

Our store came about in a very unique way. I like to believe it was divine guidance that got us here. In short, this is how it happened.

In July, 2005, my husband and I owned a small "mom and pop" mortgage business. I was burnt out with the stress and frustrations that come with being in that type of business and had been talking about doing something different. I had always been in some form of business ownership and knew that was the only way to go, but had no idea what I wanted to do. 

My daughter had just found out that she was pregnant and we were so excited! But she soon realized that finding affordable maternity clothing, that actually fit her, was a giant challenge. She is tall and that made it even harder. Her good friend was pregnant at the same time and her challenge was even worse! She was a very tall, plus sized girl who worked in a bank. Her job required business clothing. So now we needed to find tall, average and plus sized business attire as well as casual and weekend wear. Those two girls scoured Tulsa with virtually no luck. Ordering online became a requirement, and another major frustration, what with waiting for orders, items not fitting and shipping fees and frustrations due to returns. Both were ready to throw up their hands in defeat. This was first pregnancies for both and they felt it should be, if not fun, at least somewhat enjoyable to shop for their changing bodies. We were all stunned at the lack of clothing available and the outrageous prices.  

Finally, after a long, frustrating day of "shopping", or searching, as Jess liked to call it, they came by my office in despair. Jess dropped down on the couch and, in tears, said to me..."You know what this town needs? It needs a maternity resale store!" It literally was like a light bulb went off over my head. My spouse looked at me, I looked at the empty space right next door, and the idea was born. 

For the next three months, I shopped for maternity clothes! Everywhere! I managed to stock 750 pieces by our opening date of November 1, 2005. 

We opened that day and have been going strong ever since!

Both my daughter, Jess, and her friend, Tara, have had a second child in that time. I'm proud to say that finding maternity wear for each wasn't nearly as difficult the second time around! =)  

In the seven years since opening, we have more than quadrupled our inventory, we have doubled the size of the store, and provided hundreds of new moms with everything from nightgowns to formal gowns! I have seen many moms through multiple pregnancies, and it's always exciting for me. I love the girls I meet, I love to see them come back multiple times and go away with a bag of goodies and a smile on their face. I love to see their babies as they grow, because these women always come back for something. Since we carry nursing items and certain baby items, they have good reason to come in. Then when they are all finished making babies, they come back again to sell their maternity things BACK to me. 

This business is a great joy to me, I can't imagine doing anything else now. I hope you will come visit us soon and see for yourself that it really IS possible to have "fun" with your changing body, look cute and trendy, and NOT spend a fortune to do so. Thanks!
